Austrian company STIA was founded in 1972.
STIA has an unusual background, being the industrial arm of the Benedictine monastery of Admont, Austria.
This monastery was founded in 1074 and has been involved in wood processing ever since.
STIA now employs 300 people, has a manufacturing capacity of around 1,400,000 sq.
Admonter thermo-treated planks and panels which are darkened through the special thermo-treatment absolutely meet the current trend for dark timber.
During this innovative production process which does not employ any chemicals or dyes the wood is heated to more than 200° Celsius under the exclusion of oxygen.
