Services
Rafael and his wife Ana established USA Carpet and Vinyl in 1994.
Both emigrated to the USA from El Salvador in the 1980's with a hope of a better life.
Ana worked tirelessly cleaning houses in Marin County while Rafael worked various different jobs to make ends meet.
From working as a valet parking attendant in San Francisco, to working as restaurant busboy, Rafael eventually found a talent in flooring.
In 1985 Rafael began his career as a flooring installer at a local flooring company in Contra Costa County.

Knowing about carpet and its construction will certainly help you select a carpet that is right for your needs and budget.
The way carpet is constructed plays an important part in how your new carpet will perform.
Although carpets may "look" and "feel" the same, there may be a possibility that you are comparing apples to oranges.
For a carpet to be durable it is important to understand the carpet fiber, face weight, density, and whether it is a cut, loop, or cut-loop construction.
Nylon Fiber has been around since 1935.

Worried about carpet staining?
Solution Dyed Fiber may be right for you!
A "Solution Dyed Fiber" means the dye color is part of the fiber itself and not washed into the fiber.
Because the dye color is part of the fiber itself, the carpet has an enhanced level of stain and color fastness protection.
Solution-Dyed is manufactured in Polyester, Polypropylene, and Nylon fibers.
Shaw treats the majority of their carpet products with R2X Stain and Soil Repellent protection.
Unlike Shaws competitors that provide a stain protection application that can wash and wear-off, R2X Stain and Soil Repellent does NOT wash or wear-off.

There are many forms of vinyl flooring.
Resilient Sheet Vinyl, Vinyl Composition Tile, Luxury Vinyl Planks and Luxury Vinyl Tiles are some to name a few.
While resilient sheet vinyl has been around for quite some time, luxury vinyl planks and tile have recently become extremely popular.
LVT and LVP easily get mixed up with laminate floors because of the ability to be able to perform a floating floor installation using a glueless click-method.
LVT and LVP is great for DIY installers.
It is extremely versatile, durable, and easy to maintain.

Laminate provides the "look" and "feel" of real wood, tile, and stone at an affordable price.
Laminate flooring consists of 4-layers.
The first is the melamine backing layer, high density fiber core board made of composite wood, a printed photo-realistic image of either wood, tile, or stone, and a melamine or urethane wear layer.
Unlike hardwood floors that are either nailed, glued, and often use a locking system that requires glue, most laminates are installed using a "glueless locking system."
